2022 Ford Mustang

We get it; sometimes you need a car with a little beef under the hood. If you love to drive cars with powerful engines and sporty exteriors, you’ve no doubt heard of Ford’s Mustang. This year’s 2022 Ford Mustang has seen a few updates that allow it to keep its title as the most popular sports car on the market. Our customers here at Beachum and Lee Ford are proud to offer this car for all our sports car enthusiasts.

Basics About the 2022 Ford Mustang

The Ford Mustang is a performance coupe, which is more commonly known as a sports car. Available in convertible or coupe body styles, the powerful, stylish Mustang has been universally popular since its first release in 1964 and has only continued to improve over the years.

Under the Hood

There are many engines available for the Mustang depending on the trim, all of which are paired with your choice of either a six-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic transmission. All engines route power to the rear wheels. The base Ecoboost trim has a 2.3-liter turbo-four engine that produces 310 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque, which increases to 330 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque with the High Performance Package.

Both the GT trim and the Mach 1 trim have a 5.0-liter V-8 engine that produces 420 lb-ft of torque, but the GT trim makes 450 hp while the Mach 1 makes 470 hp. The most powerful engine comes with the GT500 trim, which has a beefy supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 engine that produces an astounding 760 hp and 625 lb-ft of torque.

Safety

This year’s Mustang achieved the highest safety rating of five out of five stars from the NHTSA, with five-star ratings in all crash tests. All trims but the GT500 come equipped with an impressive array of driver-assist and active safety features, which include:

  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Lane keep assist
  • Lane departure warning
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Forward collision warning
  • Pedestrian detection
  • A rearview camera
  • Forward automatic emergency braking
  • MyKey

You can upgrade your safety suite to gain access to features like adaptive cruise control and rear parking sensors for an all-inclusive safety suite.

Technology

The base versions of the Ecoboost and GT trims come with a SYNC infotainment system, which features a 4.2-inch screen infotainment display, two USB ports, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Fordpass Connect, and a six-speaker stereo system. The SYNC 3 infotainment system is available as an upgrade on these trims and standard on the Mach 1 and GT500 trims.

The SYNC 3 system features a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen, two USB ports, navigation, Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, satellite and HD radio, and a nine-speaker stereo system with an optional 12-speaker premium upgrade.

New Features

The new Steal Edition Appearance Package has been newly released this year and features black trim. There is also a new California Special Appearance package with an optional GT Performance Package for enhanced aesthetics and driving performance.

As the most popular sports car on the market, the Ford Mustang continues to offer amazing features for any drivers who want a little power under the hood. The multiple powerful powertrain options, abundant safety features, and great technology are top-of-the-line.
