Our favorite is the Peachland whopper, with cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and their signature mayonnaise-based sauce. They’re so good we generally grab another to go. If you prefer chicken, their bacon cheddar chicken burger is guaranteed to please, especially with their homemade ranch dressing.
Pattan’s Downtown Grille
Pattan’s opened in 2015 and is owned and managed by an amazing husband and wife team. Tim Pattan is a master of the barbecue, and the quality of their food has spread far and wide. They’re the home of the Pee Dee River Swamp Sauce, a unique blend of tomato, vinegar, and mustard that creates the ultimate barbecue sauce.
They have five specialty burgers, including beef, shrimp, and their amazing impossible burger. We’re huge fans of their shrimp burger with jumbo shrimp, lettuce, tomato, and homemade mayonnaise. Their impossible burger is our vegetarian friend’s choice, and it’s served with scrumptious chipotle kale slaw. Patten’s can be found at 228 A E Washington Street, Rockingham.
Lefler’s Place
This is the oldest cafe in two counties, and its history stretches back to 1922. Since the beginning, they’ve stuck for good, well-prepared comfort food. Burgers, hot dogs, and other tasty items that people love to eat. Lefler’s is also known for being one of the best burger restaurants in the state. They don’t offer vegetarian burgers, but meat eaters with love their beef and chicken burgers.
They offer seven different burgers, and our favorite is the double bacon cheeseburger. It’s made with two beef patties, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and their special burger sauce. Pair it with some of their delicious crispy fries, and you have the perfect meal.
